Thrilling Attractions

Every family has at least one thrill-seeker, and Cedar Point certainly delivers! The park has 17 roller coasters that range from kid-friendly to heart-stopping. You can start your kids early with the Wilderness Run, which boasts as the training coaster for young adventurers. When they are ready to hit the big ones, the park has some record-breaking coasters to get your adrenaline going. The Magnum XL-200 reaches a towering 205 feet and achieves 72 miles per hour. Do not miss out on the Blue Streak. This classic ride has been running since 1964.

If you want a brand of thrill that is not stuck on a track, then you are in luck. Take a spin on the Matterhorn that pays homage to the grueling Alps trail, or hold on tight with the Ocean Motion as you swing 65 feet into the air on this swaying boat ride. If you want something more intense, then you’ll want to check out either MaXair and spin 145 feet into the air on the intense pendulum ride or the SlingShot and be hurled 360 feet in the air at 65 miles per hour.

Family Fun

There is more to the park than heart-pounding thrills, though, and plenty of activities for everyone in the family to engage in. Take a break, enjoy a relaxing ride on a real coal-powered locomotive, and watch actors portray life on the frontier. Take to the skies and experience one of the tallest Ferris Wheels in the United States. Speaking of taking to the skies, you will get a bird’s-eye view of the entire park on the Cedar Point Sky Ride in the comfort of a swaying gondola.

Not all family fun has to be sitting around and looking at the park. Head down to the Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island for some truly unique entertainment. Start by pulling yourselves across the Snake River Swamp on the four-person Crystal Rocks Rafts. From there, your adventure begins. Explore smokescreens, cross the precarious boggy bridge, or investigate Cascade Crossing. Then stop at Etta Camp, and you’ll soon learn there is a tale attached to Adventure Island. Can you learn the whole story?

With over 100 attractions, there is something for every member of your family. Whether your family has toddlers, teens, or full-grown adults, everyone can have fun at Cedar Point. You have to start the adventure.

Grab a Bite

When you spend a long day at an amusement park, you need to make sure you have plenty to eat and drink. The last thing you want is to dehydrate or get hungry. The excellent news, Cedar Point has plenty of options and many that accommodate different dietary restrictions, from gluten-free to vegan.

If you and the kids are looking for a snack, there are over 20 options to choose from. While your Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon are there, the park also offers more unique establishments. C.J.’s Provisions & Toot Sweets is a delightful vegan-friendly option with build-your-own funnel cakes, and chilly soft serve to keep you cool in the hot summer months. For something savory, check out Drive-In for a soft pretzel, bratwurst, or a cold beer.

Snacks are nice, but sometimes you need to sit down and have a nice big meal. In Frontier Town, check out Last Chance Saloon and Lusty Lil’s Palace for a hot meal, cold moonshine, and a good show. When you’re hungry near Celebration Plaza, you’ll find a quaint teal and white 1950s diner. Grab a burger and chocolate malt milkshake, or take a look at their vegan and vegetarian menu for something different.

Waterway Adventures

As the weather turns warmer and you are looking for some fun in the sun, check out the water park portion of Cedar Point, Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. Cedar Point Shores has 18 acres of wet and wild family fun. There is something for everyone as you make your way through all the attractions, splashing and laughing.

For the little ones, paddle down to Lemmy’s Lagoon and meet Lemmy himself as he peaks out of the water to say hi to the children. The splash pad will entertain the kids for hours between the giant sandcastles and fish fountains. When you are ready to drift and let your cares float away, you can hop on an inner tube and relax on the Cedar Creek lazy river. Though, if you want some thrill on the lazy river, go to Runaway Rapids to enjoy a faster current and come face to face with geysers and waterfalls.

When it is time to get your heart pounding, the park has several adrenaline-racing slides to fly down. Challenge your group in the Riptide Raceway. Just hold on tight to your mat as you are flung into the dark helix tubes before splashing down to victory. Point Plummet will have you reeling as the trap door falls out from under you and you hurtle through twisting tubes and into the splashdown. Out of the 18 unique attractions, half of them are heart-racing water slides. Can you try them all?
